Hope Line Volunteers receive Hope Line calls during four-hour shifts that best suit their schedule. Volunteers may also choose to provide out-bound calls through the Hope Line’s Friendly Call Service. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.

I have attended (either virutally or in-person) a Hope Line Volunteer Training. As a volunteer for the NCBAM Hope Line, I agree to abide by the Volunteer Policies and Practices of Baptist Children's Homes of NC, Inc. (BCH).

I agree and understand that I will be volunteering at my own risk and that in consideration of NCBAM/BCH’s allowing me to perform volunteer work or services on behalf of NCBAM/BCH, I hereby release and absolve said NCBAM/BCH of any and all liability for damages which might arise from any incident while working on behalf of NCBAM/BCH. Furthermore, I agree to indemnify and hold harmless against any claims that may be filed or asserted against said NCBAM/BCH on account of any act performed in the course of such volunteer work or as a result of any incident in which I might be involved while working on behalf of NCBAM/BCH.

I understand that NCBAM is a faith-based Christian organization and that its Hope Line offers a Christian spiritual response to social isolation and loneliness. I understand that callers may request prayer and/or spiritual encouragement. I will do my best to offer prayer, scripture, and/or other appropriate responses to callers.

I understand that the Hope Line is a confidential service. I agree to respect the privacy of callers by not disclosing personal information shared by callers to anyone outside the NCBAM organization.

I agree that all work I do is on a volunteer basis and I am not eligible to receive any monetary payment or reward.

I understand my approval to volunteer is subject to a background check completed in part through a third-party service provider, and that I will receive a separate notification regarding my rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act and any other applicable consumer/background check reporting law.
